Huawei claims to have found an alternative to Google Maps

Huawei was affected by commercial problems between America and China. Announcing its own operating system after the American boycott, the company is claimed to have reached an agreement for the Google Maps alternative.


Alleged agreement with Huawei TomTom!

Android devices usually offer Google Maps as the primary map application, but Huawei was looking for an alternative after the American boycott. The company, which also took steps about map application after the Harmony OS move, has agreed with TomTom according to the allegations.

One of the biggest reasons for the Huawei TomTom partnership is the possibility to access real-time traffic information. Some companies turn to alternatives like OpenStreetMap, but unfortunately, detailed access is not provided as much as TomTom or Google Maps.

A spokesman for the Dutch-based company TomTom stated that the agreement was completed a few months ago. The spokesperson, who did not elaborate on the terms of the agreement, explained that the companies could announce this partnership in the near future.

This year, the Harmony OS operating system is expected to be brought together with the end user. The company, which is prepared to serve its users with the alternatives of Google services, does not make any explanation about the services that the company will use, and it is considered negative by some people.

The compatibility and synchronization with one of the Google services is beyond most ecosystems. That's why Huawei needs to spend more work to rival this ecosystem.
