What is a video?

What is a video?

Vehicle that records the video signal on a tape and serves to display it on the television screen again. The video recording is recorded on tape, similar to the sound recording (See Tape). There is a fine grain iron oxide powder on one side of the video tape. In the video, the band passes under the coil, which is described as the head, while the band is wound from one reel to another. The video signal is propagated towards the magnetic field tape. The iron oxide particles on the band are displaced according to the magnetic field vibrations. When acquiring images in the video, completely reverse operations occur. The signal frequency, which is 20 to 20,000 hz in the audio band, ranges from 30 to 4 mhz in the video band. In this respect, the distance between the head and the band becomes important in the video. Band transition speed is also very important. The thickness of the silicon dioxide glass layer, which normally provides the air gap in a video, is 850x10-9 cm. Band transition speed is 19 cm / sec (71/2 inch / sec). The speed of the tape is relative to the posture of the head. As the head rotates around its axis, the band passes quickly under the head.

Almost all television studio programs are taped as video recordings. As the video is very clear in video broadcasts, it cannot be noticed from the images in live broadcasts. The bands used in television broadcast stations are capable of recording up to 4 MHz and are 1 inch (2.54 cm) wide. The tapes used in the houses are cheaper and 1/2 inch (1.26 cm) wide. Video recordings can be monochromatic (black and white) and color.

Apart from the tape, the video recording can also be made on disc-shaped discs. In order for the video recording to be of good quality, the disc should spin fast during recording. The rotating speed of the 8 inch (20 cm) diameter disc is 1500 revolutions per minute. The recording marks on the disc are taken either with a mechanical needle or optically by the laser beam. Video discs are more economical than video tapes. The possibility of recording videotapes at various times increases the interest in the tape.

Recently, electronic companies are trying to make videos digitally. Digital videos will have advantages such as better picture quality, recording several programs at the same time, and copying tapes unlimitedly without losing image and sound. With the digital system, video sizes and tapes will shrink. In the digital video recording system, there is also the possibility to record a large amount of information on a small tape. The technology in today's videos is used to record the digital video signal. While one of the recording head is recording at a certain angle, another recording can be made from a different angle of the recording head. Thus, it is seen that recording more information on the tape and less loss of sound.
