What is the E-mail Address?

What is the E-mail Address?

Now that you send someone an email, it must be a valid address to go to. In electronic form, this address is called an e-mail address. The e-mail address mostly consists of the user number of the person and the internet. address of the system used.

Note that the address consists of two parts separated by an @ sign. The first part is the user number in the person's own system; the second part indicates the address of the system it is located on. Some systems allow aliasing instead of the user number in the first part. Some different networks (such as Compuserve, UUCP) have different e-mail addressing formats.

What Are The E-Mail Programs?

All these phrases are also included in the header of the e-mail and contain some sending information about the e-mail sent.

In the From field, the email address of the person who sent the email (and, if necessary, their Name, Surname) is included.

The To field contains the email addresses of the people to whom we will send the email. If the number of people to be sent is more than 1, the addresses are written with a comma or semicolon (leaving a space in some systems).

In the Subject: field, a very short definition appropriate for the e-mail content is written. (Urgent, meeting announcement, I'm very sick, Call me now, etc.)

If we are going to send a copy of the e-mail to another person or people (usually, they may be related to the e-mail content with a 2nd degree), their addresses are written in the Cc: field. (Cc: Carbon Copy)

Bcc: Same as Cc. Although only people who receive the mail can see the information in the To: and Cc: fields, they cannot see the information in the Bcc: field (Bcc: Blind Carbon Copy).

Occasionally, you may need to forward a message to another person. The mechanism that provides this is seen in the form of forwarding: at the beginning of the mail. The e-mail programs you use, as standard, offer you the option to send a mail to someone else. There are also different fields at the beginning of electronic mail.

What is Attachment?

A file can be sent along with the e-mails by adding it to the end of the post. This is usually done by typing the name of the file to be attached in the field Attachment: at the beginning of the email. The added files can be plain text, as well as pictures, sound, program, etc. There may also be binary files. Almost all e-mail programs support this feature as standard.

With the standard called MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions), non-text files are encrypted on the sending computer and decrypted on the receiving computer. Thus, the recipient of the mail can automatically save the file that comes as an attachment to their local disk.
